How does a basic security system work?
There are 3 different components to a basic security system.
- Sensors: detect if a door or window is opened, if glass is broken or if there is movement within a particular area or room. When a sensor is triggered a signal is sent to the security system's control panel.
- Control Panel: this centrally located devices sends, receives and manages all of the signals from the sensors. The control panel notifies the central station when a sensor is activated while your system is armed.
- Central station: operates and is staffed 24/7 and processes all of the signals received from the control panel. When a signal is received, the central station verifies the signal and then takes appropriate action based on the type of signal.
How is Code 3 Safety Solutions different from other alarm companies?
There are a few reason's that makes Code 3 different.
- Code 3 uses an advanced GSM technology to transmit the systems signals wirelessly to the central station. We do not rely on antiquated phone lines to protect your premise. Old school phones lines can be defeated simply by cutting the wire.
- Code 3 offers a two way voice communication between your premise and the central station. This feature allows the operator to communicate with you during an emergency, resulting in more information forwarded to the responding agencies. We also offer two way interactive monitoring. This feature sends you both alarm and non alarm information via e-mail or text messaging.
- Code 3 alows you to view video feeds from your premise through your laptop, iPhone or Blackberry device.
Why do I need monitoring service?
While a noisy system may make you feel safer, the truth is that some systems can be disabled before the siren goes into alarm. Code 3 sends an alarm pending signal as soon as a door or window is violated, followed by the actual zone signal. This insures that the central station receives the signal and dispatches the proper authorities.
Does Code 3 offer small business solutions?
Code 3 has excellent solutions for your business. Our two way interactive monitoring can let you know what time employees arrive and depart, and give you visibility into the traffic to your business with e-mail, text messaging and video feeds.
Do I need smoke or fire protection?
What type of protection do I need for maximum protection?
Since most break ins occur through a front or a back door it is important to ensure that all accessible doors are protected. Ground floor windows can be protected by individual sensors, motion sensors or glass break sensors depending on the building layout and how the system will be used.
We offer several system packages that fit most homes and small businesses. Our consultant will review your needs and make recommendation based on the security survey.
What happens if an intruder breaks in and destroys the control panel?
Old school systems wait for up to a minute before communicating an alarm signal, including entry delays for you to disarm the system. By that time the system could be compromised, so no signal is ever sent to the central station.
With Code 3's two way interactive monitoring, every activity or event is communicated immediately to the central station. Code 3 knows when you arm and disarm, so when your system is armed and a door opens, we automatically put your system in a special "Pending Alarm" status.
If we don't get the disarm signal, or if we receive the actual intrusion signal, we dispatch accordingly. This unique "Pending Alarm" status is the safest and most reliable protection you can get.
